Kirkwood Dance Team

If you are committed to dance, teamwork, school spirit and having lots of fun, then you should consider trying out for the Kirkwood Dance Team! Our team performs Pom, Jazz, and Hip Hop style routines. Students interested in auditioning for the team should be well-versed in the above-mentioned styles and be able to execute a variety of leaps and turns appropriately.

Darrian Spilman

Darrian is from Lone Tree, IA where she graduated in the class of 2015. Spillman attended Kirkwood Community College for Liberal Arts (2015-2017). While at Kirkwood she performed with the Kirkwood Dance Team. After college, Spillman was a professional cheerleader (2017-2020), as well as a Cedar Rapids Titan Doll and, later a Riverking Royal Dancers. She has been assisting the Kirkwood Dance Team since 2020 and officially took over as head coach in June 2022.

The Kirkwood Dance Team is actively recruiting for our 2023-2024 team. We will hold a tryout in May and another in August. We will do biweekly nationals with the Dance Team Union.
