Kirkwood Community College offers men and women the opportunity to participate in intercollegiate competition through six team sports -- baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's golf, softball, and women's volleyball. All athletic teams are based on the Cedar Rapids campus.

Kirkwood Community College is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC).
