NO.3 KCC WOMEN ROLL PAST IOWA CENTRAL
The third-ranked Kirkwood women's basketball team dunked Iowa Central,72-41, in the final game of the regular season Wednesday night at Johnson Hall.
The Eagles will be the No. 1 seed for the regional tournament and will host Ellsworth or Marshalltown in the opening round Wednesday at 5:30.
Karsyn Stratton helped Kirkwood enjoy fast starts at the beginning of both halves and finished with 12 points. Tasia Jordan collected 12 points and nine rebounds. Emily Dreckman hit four 3-pointers and also scored 12.
The Eagles raised their overall record to 26-2 and finished the regular season with a perfect 13-0 mark at home.
Kirkwood Coach Kim Muhl was honored in a pre-game ceremony for reaching 1,000 wins last month.
