Kirkwood managed to bust open a close game at halftime and cruise to an 86-58 victory over NIACC on Saturday afternoon in Johnson Hall.
The Eagles, who never trailed in the game, jumped out to a 15-3 lead midway through the first quarter.
Kirkwood (23-0 / 13-0) would lead 24-17 after a quarter, but NIACC battled back to tie the game at 32-32 midway through the second quarter.
The Eagles would hold a slim 43-36 lead at halftime.
Kirkwood buckled down defensively in the second half and outscored NIACC 43-22, ignited by a 15-2 run to begin the half.
Sophomore Jenna Twedt finished with a game-high 27 points, including 7-16 from three.
Two other Eagles finished in double figures scoring in sophomores Kaliyah Sain with 19 points and Jariah Harris with 12 points.
Sophomore Ella Prtichard helped the Eagles own a 44-25 advantage on the boards, as she finished with a career-high 11 rebounds.
Kirkwood ventures out of conference for their next match-up on Wednesday, as they travel to Trenton, MO to take on #15 North Central Missouri College at 5:30 pm.
