CRESTON -- Freshman Ady Wintermote collected 17 kills Wednesday night as the ninth-ranked Kirkwood Eagles swept Southwestern, 25-16, 25-15, 25-17, in a junior college volleyball match in Creston.
Abbi Tunis supported Wintermote with eight kills and Margaret Micka had seven.
Lauren Keane rolled up 25 assists for the Eagles and Grace Swenning had 11. Brianna Eberhardt had 19 digs, Micka 17 and Wintermote 11.
McKenzie Petersen led the block attack with eight. Haleigh Durnin had seven blocks and Tunis had five.
Kirkwood raised its records to 11-5 overall and 3-0 in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference.
