FORT DODGE - The ninth-ranked Kirkwood Eagles compiled a 3-1 record at the Iowa Central volleyball tournament in Fort Dodge this past weekend.
The Eagles began the tournament Friday by sweeping Neosha County and 20th-ranked North Dakota State College of Science, 3-0. The Eagles lost to top-ranked Cowley County, 3-0, on Saturday, then bounced back with another 3-0 sweep of MCC-Longview.
Kirkwood raised its record to 28-7.
Kirkwood swept North Dakota State College of Science, 25-17, 25-19, 25-20. Morris led the way with 11 kills. Ehret had 31 assists. Marshall came up with 11 digs.
Brianna Justsen blocked five shots.
The Eagles gave top-ranked Cowley a good fight in the third set before falling, 25-17, 25-19, 27-25.
Lexi Hearn collected 13 kills. Ehret had 26 more assists. Marshall contributed 13 digs. Hearn blocked six shots and Justsen snuffed five at the net.
Kirkwood defeated Longview, 25-18, 25-20, 25-17. Hearn and
Alyssa Tegeler sparked the attack with 10 kills apiece. Ehret provided 33 assists. Dusterhoft had three aces. Ehret made 11 digs and Marshall had 10. Tegeler blocked eight shots.
