Bio

Doug Wagemester (pronounced "wahg-uh-mes-ter") is in his 23rd year in the Kirkwood Athletics department. For 15 years, Wagemester served as the head men's basketball coach, leading the Eagles to nine national tournament appearances. For seven years, he served in the dual capacity of head men's basketball coach and Athletics Director before stepping away from coaching in 2013 and focusing his efforts on directing the Eagles athletic programs.

During Wagemester's tenure as Athletics Director, the Eagles have won six national championships and 39 Region XI championships.

Wagemester played his collegiate basketball at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa from 1986-90. While at Loras, Wagemester was a three-year starter and served as a team captain his senior season. He graduated from Loras College in 1990 with a B.A. in physical education and received his M.A. in education from the University of Redlands in 1994.

In addition to being the Athletics Director, Wagemester also teaches an introductory college course to athletes at Kirkwood and remains involved with boys basketball camps in the spring and summer.

Wagemester and his wife, Kim, have two sons, Hank and Jack and a daughter, Jenna.
