Eagles top DuPage, 15-13, in wild game

The Kirkwood Eagles rallied to win a wild baseball game Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles scored six runs in the fifth inning and trimmed the College of DuPage, 15-13, in the first game of a doubleheader at the Kirkwood Field.

DuPage took the second game, 6-3.

Alex Pendergast went 4-for-5 with a double, home run, and six RBIs in the first game. Trevor Burkhart and Lorenz Elion also hit home runs and drove in three runs for the Eagles. Andrue Henry collected three hits. Andrew Nord, Burkhart, and Joel Vaske scored three runs.

Tucker Christensen (1-1) got the victory in relief. Tyler Tscherter pitched a scoreless seventh inning for the save.

Vaske had two hits and two RBIs in the second game. Pendergast had four at-bats and walked all four times.

Kirkwood won the three-game series against DuPage, 2-1, raising their record to 4-7.
