KCC baseball swept by Iowa Western

COUNCIL BLUFFS - The Kirkwood baseball team spent a lost weekend in Council Bluffs.

Iowa Western swept a doubleheader from the Eagles for the second straight day on Sunday, 5-1 and 11-1, to win all four ICCAC games in the weekend series.

Kirkwood fell to 8-13 overall and 4-6 in the league. Iowa Western, which is ranked ninth in NJCAA Division I, raised its marks to 18-4 overall and 10-0 in the conference.

Josh Fitzgerald and Joel Vaske had two hits for Kirkwood in Game 1. Alex Pendergast was 3-for-3 for the Eagles in Game 2 with two doubles.
