Golf finishes 2nd at the Ronnie Eastman Invitational

 

Onalaska WI. -  Kirkwood Golf carded a 610 to finish second at the Viterbo University Ronnie Eastman Invitational. The 36-hole tournament was played at the La Crosse Country Club. The par-72 course measured 6912 yards.  Also playing for Kirkwood as an individual, Will Babcock shared medalist honors with a two-day total of 148.

Round One was suspended at 3 p.m. on Monday due to rain making conditions unplayable. The round was resumed at 9 a.m. on Tuesday and the golfers played three holes to complete the round. Round two was started immediately afterwards with the weather pleasant, cloudy and temperatures in mid to upper 50's.

The Eagles shot rounds of 305 and 305 for a 610 second place finish from the field of eight teams. Winona State University won the team title with a 603. 

How the five Kirkwood golfers scored and where they placed from the field of 43 golfers included T4 Ryan Morrison (1) 76 74 150, T7 Ben Epperly (2) 77 75 152, T9 Dawson Peters (4) 76 78 154, T13 James Morgan (3) 76 80 156 and  T13 George Kalpakas (5) 78 78 156.  Also playing as individuals from Kirkwood were T1 Will Babcock 75  73 148, and T30 Sam Lockhart  81  85  166.

The top six athletes were honored in the all-tournament team because of the three-way tie for 4th place individually (no scorecard playoff).
