Morgan sparks Eagles to Simpson crown

INDIANOLA - James Morgan of Kirkwood fired an even-par 71 to claim medalist honors by three shots Wednesday at the Simpson Invitational.

The Eagles captured the team championship by 12 shots as five of their golfers all finished in the top-8 of the individual standings.

Brandon McCarty tied for second place at 3-over 74. Sebastian Carranza and Kolby Shackelford tied for fifth place at 4-over 74. Jacob Patterson shared eighth place at 6-over 77.
