Bio

Brittany West is in her 1st season as an assistant coach for the Eagles. Before coming to Kirkwood she spent one season as assistant coach for the Iowa Wesleyan Tigers. While at Iowa Wesleyan she helped coach the team to a conference championship and national tournament appearance. Prior to her coaching career, West played two seasons (2017-2019) at Iowa Central Community College. In her second season with Iowa Central West was named a NJCAA 2nd team All-American. West then transferred to William Penn University, helping them to one national tournament appearance that was later canceled due to COVID-19. West was granted a 5th year of eligibility due to COVID-19 circumstances. She transferred to Iowa Wesleyan where she played her final season. West lead her team to a conference championship, where she was awarded MVP of the conference tournament. In the national tournament, West scored 39 points (school record) while hitting 11 three-pointers (school record) in the final game of her career. West also holds the record for most three-pointers in a game for the NAIA national tournament with 11. Brittany West finished her career with 1,814 points while holding a career 41% 3-point percentage for her career. During her high school career at Shakopee High School, West helped her team to a state tournament her sophomore year finishing in 4th place.

 

West earned her B.S. in Sports Management from William Penn University and her M.A. in Management Leadership with an emphasis in Athletic Administration from Iowa Wesleyan. She is currently a marketing specialist at Kirkwood.
