Dittmer helps No. 4 Eagles split matches

NORFOLK, Neb. - Aubrin Dittmer collected 25 kills Saturday as the fourth-ranked Kirkwood women's volleyball team split two matches at the Northeast CC Tournament in Nebraska.


Dittmer had 10 kills to help the Eagles defeat Southeastern, 25-16,  22-25, 25-21, 25-16, in their first match. She had 15 more kill shots as the Eagles lost to No. 13 North Dakota State College of Science, 25-19, 21-25, 25-20, 25-20.

Kirkwood compiled a 3-1 record in the two-day tournament and has a 6-3 record for the season.

Anna Gorsich and Abbie Ericson had nine kills in the 3-1 victory over  Southeastern. Madi Wagaman contributed 30 assists. Maranda Wheelock made 25 digs, Gorsich 19, Wagaman 14 and Olivia Richards 11. Maggie Peters blocked seven shots.

Gorsich and Ericson had eight kills in the 3-1 loss to North Dakota State College of Science. Wagaman rolled up 35 more assists. Wheelock had 27 digs, Richards 13, Gorsich 11 and Wagaman 10.
