KCC women win big

The second-ranked Kirkwood women's basketball team won their ICCAC match-up by 90 points Saturday at Johnson Hall.


Kirkwood women's basketball team got off to a fast start and cruised to a 119-29 win over Little Priest Tribal College.

Kirkwood outscored Little Priest 33-9 in the first quarter, 26-6 in the second quarter, 31-3 in the third quarter and 29-11 in the fourth quarter.

Paige Bradford led seven Eagles into double figures with 18 points and  11 rebounds. Ju Gaston contributed 16 points, seven steals, four assists, and three rebounds. Kemara Watson finished with 16 points and seven rebounds.

Natalie Tomaszewski had 13 points and nine rebounds for Kirkwood.  Kortney Drake also scored 13 points. Delani Harris netted 11 points and Marissa Metz had 10.

Kirkwood raised its records to 24-2 overall and 11-1 in the conference. Little Priest is 3-20 overall and 3-9 in the league.

Kirkwood trails top-ranked NIACC (13-0) by 1 1/2 games in the ICCAC  standings. They'll meet at NIACC next Saturday.
