Kirkwood sophomore picks up second All-America honor

Kirkwood volleyball right side hitter Alexa Aldrich-Ingram received her second postseason honor, as the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) named the Eagle to its 2018 Two-Year College All-America team on Wednesday. Aldrich-Ingram was named to the AVCA Second Team.
 
The AVCA All-American selection, which covers all two-year colleges, came on the heels of Aldrich-Ingram being named to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II All-American First Team on Tuesday.  Aldrich-Ingram was the 25th Eagle to land on one of the All-American teams since 1980.  
 
Taking home NJCAA First Team honors, right side hitter ranked among the best hitters within the nation in her first season at Kirkwood. With 709 kills on the year, Aldrich-Ingram ranked 2nd in the top-20 nationally, while her 4.32 kills per set ranked in the top six.  She hit .315 on the season which also ranked her at 39th in the nation.  At NJCAA National Tournament,  she was named to the NJCAA Championships All-Tournament team.  Overall this season, the six-rotation right side hitter led the Eagles in kills, kills per set, total attacks, and points, while also finishing second on the team in total blocks and third in digs.
