Kirkwood earned a 7-0 victory over DMACC this week while Rian Yates was on the mound. The freshman showcased his electric arm talent as he pitched a no-hitter into the sixth inning. DMACC laid a bunt single to break up the no-hitter, Yates only hit allowed. He went six full innings and struck out six compared to only one walk. As the team completed the shutout for him it very much helped lower the ERA, which is sitting at 3.63 after four appearances so far this season.
