SOUTH HOLLAND, Ill. - The sixth-ranked Kirkwood women's basketball team lost to the Chi-Town All-Stars, 74-67, in the second round of the South Suburban Christmas Classic Saturday afternoon to finish the weekend with a 1-1 record. The Eagles dumped Joliet Junior College, 89-59, on Friday evening.
In Friday's opening game, Olivia Usher tossed in 15 points Friday evening and Tay Wilson added 14 versus Joliet.
Leah Robinson scored 10 points as the Eagles raised their record to 10-2. Awal Ajak hit three 3-pointers and scored nine points. Megan Axcell also contributed nine points.
On Saturday afternoon, the Eagles dropped a game lost to the Chi-Town All-Stars. Awal Ajak tossed in 16 points with four 3-pointers for the Eagles and was named to the all-tournament team.
Leah Robinson scored 12 points for the Eagles, who fell to 10-3 for the campaign. Megan Axcell contributed nine points and seven rebounds. Olivia Usher had five assists.
