Ajak Named ICCAC Athlete of the Week
CEDAR RAPIDS -- Kirkwood women's basketball player Awal Ajak was announced by the ICCAC as their honoree for the Athlete of the Week for the week of December 11-17, as released by the league office today.
Ajak, a sophomore from Des Moines, Iowa, had a nice week for the Eagles as she was named All-Tournament team at the South Suburban Classic last week. The Eagles played two games, winning one and dropping the other. Ajak was highly effective from distance as she connected on 7 of 10 three-point tries. Against Chi-Town All-Stars, she scored 16 points and had three assists. She is the Eagles leading scorer on a balanced offense, averaging 9.4 points per game.
