No.8 Eagles trim No.7 Hawkeye CC

WATERLOO - Number 8 was a little better than Number 7 Thursday night.

The eighth-ranked Kirkwood Eagles trimmed seventh-ranked Hawkeye Community College, 22-25, 25-18, 17-25, 25-18, 15-12, in an ICCAC match in Waterloo.

Kamara Dickerson topped a balanced attack with 13 kills for Kirkwood. Anna Gorsich had 11 kills and Emily Strauss finished with 10.

Rachael Nelson rolled up 44 assists in the five-set marathon. Allison Pisarcik made 19 digs, Macy Akers 18, Dickerson 13, and Nelson 10.

Maggie Peters and Jada Golden-Smith both added 7 blocks apiece.

Kirkwood raised its record to 13-4. Hawkeye fell to 13-5.
