Epperly shares Monmouth golf title

MONMOUTH, Ill. - Ben Epperly of Kirkwood tied for medalist honors at the Fighting Scot Invitational Sunday at Gibson Woods.

Epperly and Colton Belloma of Southeastern Community College shot rounds of even-par 71 on the 6,239-yard course.

The tournament was trimmed from 36 holes to 18 holes due to rain on Saturday.

Parkland College, which is ranked sixth in NJCAA Division II, edged the third-ranked Kirkwood Eagles by two shots in the team standings, 294 to 296. Thirteen teams competed in the event.
