Ajak Earns All-American Honors

Kirkwood women's basketball's sophomore Awaj Ajak finished off her stellar basketball career with some national recognition. Ajak was selected as a NJCAA Division II Second Team All American. The announcement came this morning from the national office. 

Ajak averaged 9.4 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. The sophomore guard from Des Moines shot 41 percent from behind the three-point line and 80 percent from the charity stripe this season, leading the Eagles to a 34-4 overall record and a second consecutive ICCAC regular season and tournament titles while also appearing in back-to-back national championship games, winning it all in 2017.

Ajak's honor comes on the heels of former Eagle First Team All-American and NJCAA National Player of the Year Simone Goods' selection last year and the latest in a list of recent honorees which includes Madison Wood ('16; 1st Team) and Anna Martensen ('15; 2nd Team).
