KCC baseball team drops twin bill

The Kirkwood baseball team spent a long, frustrating day at the ballpark Monday.

Iowa Lakes swept the Eagles, 4-1 and 12-2 in five innings, in an ICCAC  doubleheader at Kirkwood.

The twin defeats left Kirkwood at 16-10 overall and 4-4 in the league.  Iowa Lakes raised its marks to 11-7 overall and 3-5 in the conference.

Kirkwood got only four hits in the 4-1 loss in the opener. The Eagles loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh but managed only a  single run on an infield error.

Kirkwood managed only three hits in the 12-2 loss in the nightcap and got swept off its own field in five innings.
