Kirkwood's Tasia Jordan tabbed first-team All-American by NJCAA

Three players from ICCAC Division II Women's Basketball earned NJCAA All-American status on Tuesday.

Headlining the group was the 2023 ICCAC Division II Women's Basketball Player of the Year Tasia Jordan. Jordan became the second Kirkwood player to win ICCAC Player of the Year since the award began in 2017-18. The sophomore guard did it all for the Eagles in 2022-23 -- finishing in the top three in the ICCAC in scoring (15.1), rebounding (7.5), and field goal percentage (53.8). She scored in double figures in 28 of 35 games and had seven double-doubles of points and rebounds.

Jordan helped lead the Eagles to a third-place finish at the NJCAA National Tournament this season -- and became the third Kirkwood player since 2015 to earn First Team All-American status (Ashley Tull in 2022 and Simone Goods in 2017).

On the third team was Brielle Bartlet of Iowa Lakes. Bartelt was huge to Iowa Lakes's success this season. The Lakers earned the No. 3 seed of the Region 11 Tournament behind her 14.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game. She is the first All-American selection from Iowa Lakes since Mia Wassink back in 2017-18.

Joining Bartelt on the third team was Iowa Western's Aleshia Jones. A two-year standout in Council Bluffs, Jones was the team's leading scorer this past season at 13.8 points per game.  She was top 10 in rebounding in the ICCAC as well with 160 total. Jones was a top-five three-point shooter in the conference, making 60 this season, the fourth-most in the ICCAC.

She is Iowa Western's first All-American since joining the Division II ranks in 2021-22.
