Wintermote named NJCAA All-American

Kirkwood outside hitter Ady Wintermote was named to the National Junior College Athletic Association All-American second team Thursday.

Wintermote, a freshman from Jewel, Iowa, led the Eagles offensive attack with 488 kills with a .231 hitting percentage and collected 93 blocks. The outside hitter finished second in the conference in both kills per set and total kills. She also ranked eighth in the NJCAA in total attacks. Wintermote ended the season ranking in the Top Ten in the ICCAC in seven different categories (kills, kills per set, hitting percentage, block assists, blocks per set, points, and points per set). Wintermote helped lead the Eagles to a 25-17 record and the program's 12th conference championship.

Wintermote is the latest in a long list of Eagles to be honored on an NJCAA All-American team, following in the footsteps of last season's recipients, Madsy Richards and Alex Miner.
