Kirkwood Takes 5th at NJCAA Fall Preview

Plymouth, IN- The Kirkwood Eagles Golf Team traveled to Plymouth, IN to play at Swan Resort in the 2024 NJCAA National Championship Fall Preview Tournament. Kirkwood would be competing against some of the nations best teams including Parkland, Murray State, Mississippi Gulf Coast, Illinois Central, and more. 

The first round saw 6 Kirkwood golfers competing. Reid Hall, Nathan Offerman, Quinn Tinkler, Leo Burger, Tate Brunk would all be putting their scores towards Kirkwood's team total while Aaron Estell would be competing as an individual. The first round saw Reid Hall getting out to a team-best start, shooting 72 (E); Hall would birdie holes 4, 9, and 15. Nathan Offerman would be close behind Hall shooting a 73 (+1). Offerman would also have three birdies and an eagle on 18, but a double bogey on hole one put him at one over. Tinkler and Burger would both finish at 76 (+4), putting the Eagles at a team +9 after the first round. Estell as an individual would shoot a 73 (+1) in his first round. 

In the second round, Tinkler would get off on a hot start, with birdies on holes 1 and 5. He would turn in an even par 72. Hall would keep his consistency going and would score a 73 (+1) to bring his two day total to +1 overall. Offerman and Burger would both shoot 76 (+4) in the final rounds, giving Kirkwood another round total of 9 over par. This score was good enough to put Kirkwood in 5th place overall at the tournament. Reid Hall was the Eagle highest on the leaderboard, placing tied for 8th overall with his 1 over par two round score.
