
#5 Kirkwood Rallies to Victory at Wartburg Spring Invite
Waverly, Iowa – March 29, 2025 – The Wartburg Spring Invite concluded with an impressive display of resilience and skill, as Kirkwood Community College surged to victory in the final round at Prairie Links Golf Course.
After trailing Upper Iowa by two strokes following the first round, Kirkwood delivered a stellar performance on Day 2, shooting a team-low 281 to secure the championship with a combined score of 588 (+12). Upper Iowa finished second at 597 (+21), while Wartburg College rounded out the podium with a 608 (+32) total.
Nathan Offerman Leads Kirkwood to Victory
Kirkwood's Nathan Offerman put on a stellar performance to claim the individual crown. His consistent play across both rounds (71-71) secured a winning total of 142 (-2). Offerman's precision and composure under pressure led Kirkwood's charge, while his teammates stepped up to deliver equally impressive rounds.
Jacob Ngo followed closely behind, carding a superb second-round 70 to finish at 143 (-1), reinforcing Kirkwood's dominance. Tanner Wachtl (147, +3) and Reid Hall (149, +5) also played pivotal roles, demonstrating Kirkwood's exceptional depth. Quinn Tinkler's remarkable second-round 68 was another standout moment, showcasing the team's ability to rise to the occasion when it mattered most.
A Complete Team Effort
From top to bottom, Kirkwood's lineup delivered. The ability to post low numbers across multiple players set them apart from the field. With five players finishing in the top 20, the Eagles proved their capability to dominate in team golf.
