
#5 Kirkwood Battles Windy Conditions to Secure Third Place at Verhille Invitational
Camdenton, MO - The No. 5-ranked Kirkwood Eagles golf team traveled to Camdenton, MO to compete in the Verhille Invitational at The Club at Old Kinderhook, fielding two teams—Kirkwood A and Kirkwood B. Despite challenging windy conditions, the Eagles put together a strong performance over two days of competition.
Kirkwood A finished third overall, posting a team score of +34, just five strokes behind second-place Mount Mercyand seven strokes behind tournament winner William Woods.
Day 1 Recap
Kirkwood A shot +15 as a team, while Kirkwood B finished at +36.
- Nathan Offerman led the way with a stellar round of 70 (-1), recording one birdie and 17 pars for a bogey-free scorecard.
- Quinn Tinkler followed with 75 (+4), while Reid Hall and Aaron Estell each shot 77 (+6).
- Leo Burger rounded out the group with an 84 (+13).
For Kirkwood B, Tate Brunk and Tanner Wachtl carded the team's lowest scores with 79 (+8), followed by Jacob Ngo (80, +9), Owen Wright (82, +11), and Payton Burns (83, +12).
Day 2 Recap
Quinn Tinkler stole the show in the final round, firing a tournament-low 68 (-3), sinking four birdies and just one bogey. His impressive performance earned him 2nd place overall with a +1 tournament total.
- Offerman secured a 5th-place finish, wrapping up the event at +6.
- Hall climbed 13 spots on the leaderboard, shooting 74 (+3) on Day 2 to finish 11th overall.
The Eagles now set their sights on the Wartburg Invitational at Prairie Links Golf Course on March 29-30, as they look to build on their strong early-season performances.
