Kirkwood swept North Platte and outscored the competition 22-6 in the two games to win the North Plains A District Championship. Leading the way for the Eagles offensively, second baseman Reagan Schutte bat .600 with eight RBI. Seven of those came in the first game via two home runs. Overall, on top of the RBI, Schutte scored three runs and picked up a walk in five at-bats last week.

In game 1 of the North Plains A District Championship series, Kori Wedeking pitched a complete game to pick up her 28th win of the year. She only had to go five innings because Kirkwood won the game 12-1 after decimating the competition. In her appearance, the freshman only gave up three hits and one run. Of the 15 outs that Kirkwood recorded, Wedeking was able to do most of the work by herself, striking out nine batters, bringing her season total to 209.
