ARTHOFER LEADS KCC GOLFERS TO TITLE
MARION - Kyle Arthofer fired a 2-under-par 70 Sunday as the Kirkwood Eagles captured the top prize at the Eagle Spring Classic at Hunters Ridge.
The second round of the 36-hole event was scheduled for Monday, but the tournament was shortened to 18 holes due to an unfavorable weather forecast for Monday morning.
Kirkwood finished with 297 strokes, topping Mount Mercy by six shots. The Kirkwood "B" team finished eight shots off the pace at 305.
Four Kirkwood golfers finished in the top-10 of the individual standings. Kolby Shackelford shot a 1-under 71 and tied Kaleb Hagge of Mount Mercy for second place. Brandon McCarty of Kirkwood finished
fifth at 1-over 73 and JD Pollard tied for ninth at 3-over 75.
