KCC GOLFERS CLAIM DISTRICT TITLE

MORAVIA - The North Central District golf tournament belonged entirely to the Kirkwood Eagles Sunday.

Brandon McCarty and Kolby Shackelford tied for medalist honors as the Eagles claimed the district title at The Preserve on Rathbun Lake Golf Course.

McCarty and Shackelford finished at 3-over-par 219 for the 54-hole tournament and shared the individual title with Ty Heimes of Northeast Community College.

McCarty fired rounds of 72, 74 and 73 while Shackelford toured the 6,847-yard course in 76, 72 and 71. Luke Evans of Kirkwood tied for 11th at 12-over 228, Kyle Arthofer tied for 15th at 233 and JD Pollard shared 18th place at 235.

Kirkwood won the championship by 25 shots over Northeast.
