KCC golfers competing for national title

JOPLIN, Mo. - The Kirkwood men's golf is challenging for top honors at the NJCAA Division II Championship at the Twin Hills Golf and Country Club in Joplin, Mo.
 
The Eagles stand in second place after 36 holes, trailing South Mountain Community College by only two shots at the midway point of the tournament. There are 20 teams in the event, with South Mountain sitting at 591 and Kirkwood next at 593.
 
JD Pollard of Kirkwood is tied for second place at 2-under-par 142 on the 6,842-yard course, just two shots behind the leader. Luke Evans is tied for eighth place at 2-over 146. Kolby Shackelford is tied for 29th at 151, Brandon McCarty is tied for 45th at 154 and Kyle Arthofer is tied for 56th at156.
