KCC GOLFERS TAKE 2nd IN MAJOR EVENT

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - The Kirkwood men's golf team placed second out of 16 teams Saturday at the Blue Boy Invitational in Springfield, Ill.

Illinois Wesleyan, an NCAA Division III school, won the title by 22 shots over Kirkwood and grabbed the top four spots in the individual standings. Illinois Wesleyan finished at 10-under-par 566 for the 36-hole tournament, with Kirkwood next at 12-over 588.

Jimmy Morton of Illinois Wesleyan claimed medalist honors at 6-under 138.

Kolby Shackelford of Kirkwood tied for fourth place at even-par 144 at The Rail Golf Course. Kyle Arthofer tied for eighth for the Eagles at 3-over 147. Luke Evans, Brandon McCarty and JD Pollard all tied for
12th at 148.
