EVANS SPURS EAGLES TO DISTRICT TITLE
PANORA - Luke Evans claimed medalist honors Tuesday as the Kirkwood Eagles captured the NJCAA district preview golf tournament at the Lake Panorama National Resort.
Evans finished with a 36-hole score of 1-over-par 145 with rounds of 72 and 73. He nipped Nico Booyens of Iowa Central by one shot.
Kirkwood topped Southeast Community College by seven shots in the 10-team event, 604 to 611.
Five Eagles placed in the top 10 of the individual standings. Nathan Bratanata, Taylor Crisp, and Kolby Shackelford all tied for fourth at 5-over 149. Kyle Arthofer finished eighth at 7-over 151.
