Kansas City, KS- The Kirkwood Eagles, ranked tenth in the nation, embarked on a thrilling journey to Kansas City this past weekend, facing off against tough opponents in Rock Valley and Kansas City. The stage was set for an intense showdown, and the Eagles did not disappoint.

Their journey began with a tense battle against Kansas City, a game that kept spectators on the edge of their seats until the very end. Natalie Vitek took to the mound for the Eagles, delivering a masterful performance by recording an impressive 21 outs. Kirkwood wasted no time asserting their dominance, with Peyton Johnson's single in the top of the first inning giving them an early lead. However, it was Lexi Hines' clutch home run in the seventh inning that ultimately secured the win for Kirkwood. Vitek's stellar pitching performance earned her the win, as she surrendered only 4 hits and two runs over seven innings while striking out five. An electrifying inside-the-park home run by Rachael Schlotter in the second inning propelled Kirkwood to a thrilling 4-2 win. Peyton Driscoll and Peyton Paulsen showcased their pitching prowess, while Kylie Schult and Rachael Schlotter led the offensive charge with two hits each.

In their final matchup of the weekend against Kansas City, Kirkwood once again displayed their resilience and determination. Jenna Sprague delivered a solid performance on the mound, allowing just two runs over seven innings. With key hits from Brenna Ross, Sailor Hall, Lexi Hines, and Rachael Schlotter, along with Schlotter's impressive baserunning, Kirkwood secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory.
