#8 Eagles Dominate Post Season Awards

Cedar Rapids, IA- The 2024 ICCAC Division II Softball All-Region Awards have been released and 12 Eagles are represented this season, with 7 on the first team, more than any other team. The #8 Kirkwood Eagles are sitting at 49-12 overall with a 26-2 ICCAC record. They are the back-to-back ICCAC Champions and are the Region 11-A Tournament Champions, defeating Iowa Central in the finals. They also had a 25 game win streak stretching from March 30th to April 24th.

The awards are separated into 3 teams (first, second, and honorable mention) and 6 categories (catcher, pitcher, infield, outfield, designated player, and utility).

First Team:

Peyton Driscoll (Fr.) - Pitcher
Jenna Sprague (So.)- Pitcher
Rachael Schlotter (Fr.)- Infield
Sydney Roe (So.)- Infield
Peyton Johnson (Fr.)- Outfield
Brenna Ross (Fr.)- Outfield
Sailor Hall (So.)- Utility

Driscoll has started 15 games for the Eagles, pitching 5 complete games. She has 9 wins with only 2 losses and 1 save. She has a .198 batting average against her with a 2.04 ERA. She averages 7.11 strikeouts per game and has 87 total strikeouts on the year. Sprague has a .145 batting average against her while averaging 8.11 strikeouts per game with a total of 73 on the year. She has 6 saves on the year. Schlotter had a .411 batting average with a .527 on base percentage. She had 74 hits on the year with 30 RBIs. Roe had a .351 batting average with 65 hits and 17 home runs on the year. Roe also had 79 RBIs. Peyton Johnson put up a .430 batting average, adding in 64 RBIs, 80 hits, and 14 total home runs. Ross' batting average is at .402 with 56 RBIs. She has 109 total bases and has 54 runs on the year. Hall is at a .379 batting average with 66 RBIs, 53 runs, and 133 total bases.

Second Team:

Sophia Kreutner (Fr.)- Catcher
Peyton Paulsen (Fr.)- Pitcher
Lexi Hines (So.)- Infield

Kreutner had a .250 runners caught stealing percentage and 197 put outs on the year. She also had 36 RBIs while hitting .358 on the year. Paulsen has 14 wins on the year with 8 complete games. Shes pitched 5 shutouts with 125 total strikeouts averaging 10.14 strikeouts per game and having a 2.35 ERA. Hines batting average is .355 with 63 RBIs and 114 total bases. She has 54 hits and 15 home runs on the year.

Honorable Mention:

Kiya Johnson (Fr.)- Infield
Delia Schwartz (So.)- Designated Player

Johnson is batting .320 on the year with 31 RBIs, 42 runs, and 40 total hits. She's hit 9 home runs as well. Schwartz has 27 RBIs on 41 hits with 6 home runs while batting .342 on the year.
