Shackelford, Morgan lead Eagles to title

  

There were Kirkwood golfers all over the leader board at the Eagle Spring Classic on Monday.

When all the numbers were all tabulated, the Eagles owned a 24-shot victory at their own tournament on a windy day at Hunters Ridge.

Kolby Shackelford and James Morgan of Kirkwood tied for first place at 4-over-par 148, but Shackelford won the tiebreaker by having the lowest score  Monday in the two-day event.

Shackelford fired rounds of 75 and 73, while Morgan toured the course with a 72 and 76.

Kirkwood finished with 602 strokes for a 24-victory over Mount Mercy.

Harry Oddy of Kirkwood tied Philip Nelson of Mount Mercy for third place at 7-over 151. Brandon McCarty finished sixth for the Eagles at 9-over 153 and Luke Evans tied for eighth at 11-over 155.

The Kirkwood "B" team finished third out of 15 teams.
