MORGAN LEADS KCC GOLFERS AT NATIONAL TOURNEY

PLYMOUTH, Ind. - James Morgan of Kirkwood has enjoyed two excellent rounds and sits in second place at the halfway point of the NJCAA Division II national golf tournament at the Swan Lake Resort Black Course.

Morgan began the tournament with a 4-under-par 68 Wednesday and followed with a 1-under 71 Thursday, putting him at 5-under 139 entering the third round Friday.

Morgan trails Cecil Bellsle of South Mountain Community College by four shots. The final round is Saturday.

Kolby Shackelford of Kirkwood is tied for seventh place at even-par 144 with rounds of 73 and 71.

Kirkwood is in fourth place in the team standings at 587, trailing South Mountain by 14 strokes.

JD Pollard of Kirkwood is tied for 37th at 8-over 152, Harry Oddy is tied for 46th at 10-over 154 and Brandon McCarty is tied for 71st at 15-over 159.
