#6 Eagles Sweep Lakers on the Road

Estherville, IA- The Eagles were on the road Tuesday night, playing the Iowa Lakes Lakers in a conference battle. Kirkwood dominated with a 3-0 sweep (25-18, 25-7, 25-12), improving their conference record to 4-0 on the year. 

Freshman, Emma Meester, paced the Eagles offensively with 8 kills on 13 attempts hitting .462 on the night. Not to be outdone, sophomore outside hitter, Lexi Hearn supplied 8 kills of her own on 22 attempts hitting .318. Setters Grace Embretson and Sydney Matthias racked up a combined 27 assists on the night (8 and 19 respectively), spreading the ball out well for the offense. 

Defensively, Lily VanSeveren continued her double digit digs streak (now at 11 games) with 12 digs on the night. Embretson added 7 digs to the Eagles total and Matthias added 3 aces behind the serving line. 

Next up for the Eagles is an important conference match against Northeast at home on Thursday at 6:30pm.
