Kirkwood completed their weekend road trip with a hard fought 68-53 victory over Triton College on Saturday afternoon at the State Fair Classic in Sedalia, MO.
The Eagles (2-0) who led 20-17 after a quarter, used a dominating second quarter to outscore Triton 28-10 and take a 48-27 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Triton did not go away, as they cut the Eagles' lead down to single digits in the third quarter, however two three pointers late in the quarter by sophomore Sam Veto helped extend the lead back 56-42 heading into the final quarter of play.
Sophomore Jenna Twedt led the Eagles in scoring with 18 points. Sophomore Lizzy Puot added 13 points and Veto finished with nine.
Kirkwood returns home next weekend as they host Sauk Valley on Friday night at 5:30 pm in the Kirkwood Classic.
