Kirkwood                 79
Bryant & Stratton     44

Kirkwood Classic
Cedar Rapids, IA

Through five games this season Kirkwood has not trailed very much, however, when they have, they've responded in a big way.

Saturday's game was another example of that, as the Eagles used an early 18-0 run to blow open their game vs. Bryant & Stratton (WI) and cruise to the 79-44 victory.

Trailing 6-3 with 7:11 left in the first quarter, freshman Olivia Wren knocked down a three-pointer that ignited the 18-0 run and gave the Eagles a 21-6 lead with 2:57 remaining in the first quarter.

Kirkwood (6-0) would lead 30-9 after a quarter of play.

The Eagles would take their largest lead of the first half at 44-15 on a three-pointer by freshman Kennedy Blakely with 4:25 remaining in the half.

Kirkwood's defensive pressure got their offense rolling again in the third quarter, as they increased their lead to 61-26 on a pull-up jumper by sophomore Kayilah Sain.

Sophomore Ella Pritchard would give the Eagles their largest lead of the game at 73-33 with 3:15 left in the game.

Sophomore Lizzy Puot finished with a double-double as she scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Sain & sophomore Jariah Harris both finished with 11 points and Wren added nine points.

The Eagles return to action next Saturday as they host Rock Valley at 1:00 pm in Johnson Hall.
