Kirkwood resumed ICCAC play on Wednesday night with a convincing 84-30 victory over visiting Marshalltown.
 
A slow start plagued the Eagles, as they trailed 6-2 midway through the first quarter.
 
A three pointer by freshman Olivia Wren would kick Kirkwood's offense into gear and ignite an 11-0 run giving the Eagles a 13-6 lead after a quarter of play.
 
Kirkwood (16-0 / 6-0) would extend their lead to 23-8 on a three pointer by sophomore Ellah Kissell midway through the second quater.
 
Three point baskets on consecutive trips by Wren extended the Eagles lead to 29-8 with 3:41 remaining in the half.
 
Wren would connect on her fourth three pointer of the half moments later helping the Eagles take a 36-12 lead at halftime.
 
Following halftime, sophomore Jenna Twedt got into the scoring column, as she scored the first 11 points of the third quarter for the Eagles increasing their lead to 47-16 just 3:01 into the second half.
 
Twedt would knock down her fourth three pointer of the quarter with 1:07 remaining extending the lead to 63-21.
 
Sophomore Sam Veto got in on the action from deep as she closed out the third quarter with the first of her three three pointers giving the Eagles a 65-25 lead going into the final quarter of play.
 
Veto connected on back-to-back three pointers early in the fourth quarter giving Kirkwood a 72-27 lead with 8:35 remaining in the game.
 
After missing their first seven three point attempts of the game, Kirkwood finished 14-35 (40%).
 
Kirkwood was led in scoring by Twedt's 16 points, all in the third quarter.
 
Wren scored a career high 15 points and Kissell also finished in double figures with 10 points.
 
Veto chipped in nine points, while sophomores Kaliyah Sain and Lizzy Puot both finished with eight points.
 
Sain led the Eagles in rebounding with a career high nine boards, including five offensive rebounds.
 
Sophomore Ella Pritchard came off the bench to score seven points.
 
Sophomore Jariah Harris finished with six points and freshman Kennedy Blakely added three points and sophomore Kora Alesch rounded out the scoring with two points.
 
Blakely had a solid all around game, as she dished out a game high five assists and grabbed six rebounds in the victory.
 
The Eagles will be in action again on Saturday when they travel to Creston to take Southwestern at 1:00 pm.
