Top ranked Kirkwood improved to 26-0 (16-0 ICCAC) with a 105-59 victory over Southwestern Wednesday night at Johnson Hall.
 
Sophomores Kaliyah Sain and Jenna Twedt got things going on the offensive end for the Eagles in the first quarter, as they combined to score 25 points helping Kirkwood take a 31-12 lead.
 
The second quarter was back and forth, but the Eagles still held a 57-33 lead at halftime.
 
Kirkwood used a 20-4 run over the first 5:49 of the third quarter to increase their lead to 77-37 with 4:11 remaining in the quarter.
 
The Eagles would lead 86-44 heading into the fourth quarter and cruise to the lopsided victory.
 
Sain finished with a career-high 28 points on 10-13 shooting from the floor, including 5-6 from three point range.
 
Twedt scored 20 points and sophomore Lizzy Puot recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
 
The Eagles more than doubled up the Spartans on the boards (54-26) with 24 coming off the offensive end, which helped Kirkwood outscore Southwestern 23-7 in second chance points.
 
Kirkwood also dominated the paint, outscoring the Spartans 46-22 with points in the paint.
 
The Eagles will wrap up the regular season home schedule on Saturday as they host Iowa Lakes at 1:00 pm on Sophomore Day.
