Kirkwood wasted little time jumping all over Marshalltown on Saturday afternoon, as they cruised to a 79-30 victory.
The Eagles (21-0 / 11-0) got their offense rolling early in the first quarter using a 14-0 run over the first 3:54 to start the game.
Kirkwood forced Marshalltown into 12 first quarter turnovers and only gave up one field goal, as they led 28-3 after a quarter of play.
As sharp as the Eagles looked in the opening quarter the second quarter was a bit more sluggish, as they only scored 11 points in the quarter, but still held a 39-11 lead at halftime.
The second half saw Kirkwood's offense look sharper, but they still missed quite a few easy buckets inside the paint.
Sophomore Jenna Twedt led the way in scoring for the Eagles with 19 points.
Sophomore Lizzy Puot finished with a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Sophomore Kaliyah Sain finished with nine points and six rebounds.
Freshman Olivia Wren, sophomore Ellah Kissell abd freshman Kennedy Blakely all finished with five points a piece.
Sophomores Kora Alesch and Ella Pritchard both chipped in four points, while Sophomore Sam Veto added three.
Four Eagles rounded out the scoring with two points a piece in sophomore Jariah Harris and a trio of freshmen in Eva Steffensen, Chudear Mach and Briana Martin.
The Eagles forced the Tigers into 26 turnovers and managed to score 36 points off those turnovers.
Kirkwood returns to the road on Wednesday, as they head to Fort Dodge to take on Iowa Central at 5:30 pm.
