No.8 Eagles make regional finals
Kori Wedeking tossed a four-hit shutout Saturday as the Kirkwood Eagles blanked NIACC, 5-0, in the opening round of the regional softball tournament at Kirkwood.
The eighth-ranked Eagles (48-10) are scheduled to play Iowa Central (31-26) in the winners' bracket finals Sunday at 2 pm in the double-elimination event.
Wedeking (26-3) struck out nine batters and walked one during her performance. She leads the nation in victories.
Peggy Klingler went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.
