Eagles Drop Against #1 and #2

Kansas City, KS- The Kirkwood Eagles traveled to Kansas City to test itself against the best teams in the country. They started off against the #1 team in the country on a 48 game win streak, Cowley. Kirkwood got off to a hot start, taking the first set in a back and forth affair, 25-23. Cowley would take set 2 away from the Eagles, but Kirkwood would come roaring back in set 3 to go up 2-1. In the 4th set, Kirkwood would have a 21-17 lead, however, a few key points would go the other way and they would lose the set 26-24 to have the match tied up at 2-2. In the 5th set, Cowley came out aggressive and Kirkwood couldn't rebound, they would lose the set 15-6. 

Kirkwood would also lose to #2 Johnson County and Northeastern Oklahoma A&M in 4 adn 5 sets respectively and would beat Kansas City Kansas Community College in 4 sets. Kirkwood is set to play Southeastern and Marshalltown for ICCAC play this week and then travel to Parkland this Saturday for a match up with the #3 Parkland Cobras.
