#6 Kirkwood Sweeps Marshalltown

Marshalltown, IA- The #6 Kirkwood Eagles traveled to Marshalltown on Thursday evening to take on the Marshalltown Tigers in their second ICCAC matchup of the week. 

Kirkwood began the first set exchanging a few points with the Tigers before pulling away mid set. The Eagles would take the first set 25-17 and from that point on, they didn't look back. The second set would go the same as the first, Eagles winning 25-17. The final set saw the Eagles dominating from start to finish, closing out the match 25-12. 

The Eagles effort was well balanced. Freshman outside hitter Maggye Smith would have 10 kills on 22 total attempts, hitting .318. Ava Harris-Shepard would continue her stellar sophomore campaign with 10 kills of her own on 14 swings, hitting .643 on the match. She also added 4 block assists to her stat line. Freshman middle Emily Naughton would put down 5 kills of her own on 8 total attempts with no errors, hitting .625. Setter Kaci Johnson would add 25 assists with sohpomore setter, Sydney Matthias, adding 13 of her own. 

The Eagles travel to Parkland this weekend to take on the #2 Parkland Cobras and #23 Madison College.
