NO.13 EAGLES END REGULAR SEASON WITH LOSS

WATERLOO - The 13th-ranked Kirkwood women's volleyball team was trimmed by 10th-ranked Hawkeye Community College, 22-25, 25-23, 25-11, 25-27, 15-6, in the final match of the regular season Wednesday night.
 
Kirkwood (23-12, 7-2) finished third in the ICCAC standings behind Iowa Central and Hawkeye Community College.
 
Kamara Dickerson led the Eagles with 13 kills. Katie Kopriva had 12 kills, Emily Strauss 11 and Jada Golden-Smith eight.
 
Rachael Nelson collected 42 assists. Takoa Kopriva made 20 digs. Danielle Stock helped block 10 shots.
 
Kirkwood drew the No. 3 seed for the Region XI-B tournament this weekend in Waterloo and will face No. 6 seed Northeast in the first round Saturday at 3 p.m. The regional final is Sunday at 1 p.m.
 
The NJCAA Division II national tournament will be played in Cedar Rapids at the Alliant Energy Powerhouse Nov. 18-20.
