NO.8 EAGLES WIN 3 MATCHES IN NEBRASKA

NORFOLK, Neb. - The eighth-ranked Kirkwood women's volleyball team compiled a 3-1 record at the NECC tournament in Nebraska this past weekend.
 
The Eagles began the tournament with a 3-1 loss to Barton Community College, then bounced back Friday with a 3-0 victory over Southeast Community College.
 
Kirkwood captured wins with both matches Saturday, nipping Allen County Community College 3-2 and blanking Central Community College-Columbus 3-0.
 
Bri Justsen had nine kills in the 26-24, 25-18, 20-25, 25-16 loss to Barton. Lexi Hearn and Alyssa Tegeler had seven kills. Ava Morris added six. Gracie Ehret collected 25 assists. Allison Bonnette
contributed six aces. Defensively for the Eagles, Sierra Marshall had 17 digs. Justsen added 10 blocks and Morris six.
 
Bonnette collected nine kills in the 25-17, 25-15, 25-8 whitewash of Southeast. Morris had eight kills. Ehret dished out 21 assists. Again defensively for the Eagles, Marshall made 10 digs. Tegeler had 9 blocks.
 
Morris rolled up 13 kills as the Eagles rallied to trim Allen County 25-18, 23-25, 19-25, 25-17, 15-13 in five sets. Justsen finished with nine kills and Bonnette had eight. Ehret rolled up 37 assists and had 16 digs. Marshall and Emma Link each had 14 digs. Tegeler added nine blocks and Justsen snuffed seven.
 
Morris led the way with 11 kills in the 25-13, 25-6, 25-13 conquest of Central. Justsen provided nine kills. Hearn and Tegeler finished with seven kills. Ehret had 33 assists, five aces and 13 digs. Marshall added 11 digs. Justsen blocked six shots.
 
Kirkwood raised its record to 8-1.  Wednesday the Eagles will host Southeastern for the ICCAC conference opener, 6:30pm - Johnson Hall.
