NO.9 EAGLES RAISE RECORD TO 31-7

The ninth-ranked Kirkwood volleyball team raised its record to 31-7 Saturday by sweeping two matches at Johnson Hall.
 
The Eagles blanked Blackhawk Community College, 25-17, 25-8, 25-12, and rolled past the Mount Mercy junior varsity team, 25-11, 25-12, 25-17.
 
Lexi Hearn had 12 kills against Blackhawk. Gracie Ehret collected 30 assists. Sierra Marshall made 15 digs. Alyssa Tegeler blocked five shots.
 
Tatianna Place and Tegeler had seven kills against Mount Mercy. Grace Embretson dished out 22 assists and served four aces. Emma Link made 10 digs. Allie Beck and Tegeler blocked four shots.
 
Kirkwood and fifth-ranked Iowa Central meet Wednesday night at Johnson Hall in a showdown for the ICCAC conference title. Both teams enter the final match of the regular season with 8-0 records.
