NO.9 EAGLES SPIKE NO.16 DMACC

The ninth-ranked Kirkwood women's volleyball team won a hard-fought match with 16th-ranked DMACC at Johnson Hall Wednesday night.
 
The Eagles lost the first set 25-16, then stormed back and won the next three sets 25-8, 25-17, 31-29 to claim the match 3-1.
 
Kirkwood remains tied with Iowa Central for first place in the ICCAC with 6-0 records. DMACC fell to 4-2 in the conference.
 
Alyssa Tegeler led a balanced attack with 14 kills against DMACC. Ava Morris contributed 13 kills, Allison Bonnette 10, and Lexi Hearn 10. Gracie Ehret rolled up 32 assists and Grace Embretson had 19.
 
Defensive leaders for the Eagles was Sierra Marshall with 23 digs. Bailey Hoff had 17 digs, Emma Link 12, and Embretson 10.  Tegeler totaled 10 blocks and Bri Justsen added 5 blocks.
 
 Kirkwood raised its overall record to 24-4. 
 
The Eagles are back in action tomorrow hosting a triangular with NJCAA DII No. 3 Parkland College and NJCAA DI No. 3 Indian Hills.  Match times are as follows:

3pm Parkland vs. Indian Hills
5pm Kirkwood vs. Indian Hills
